The Downside of Homeownership
We have a leak in our basement. We're not sure where the water is coming from yet, but last night there was water all over the floor of Brian's workshop, and it happened again this afternoon. I used the shop vac to clean up the water today; my back and hips did not appreciate it. Luckily Grace was napping, otherwise I'm sure she would have wanted to help which might have made things a bit more difficult. Brian is home now and trying to figure out where the water is coming from. I love that we have our own house, but the great thing about renting was being able to call the landlord and say "hey, come fix this problem!"

Definitely the worst part of home ownership! We had the same thing happen in the house before this one...turns out the water was coming up the drain due to tree roots blocking the pipes. It was a fairly simple fix...better than a foundation problem anyway!
